What services does Venus Jewellers offer?
Venus Jewellers provides a full range of in-store services, including jewellery repairs, custom jewellery work, professional appraisals, watch repairs, buying and selling gold and silver bullion, purchasing gold and silver items from the public, currency exchange, and cash loans on gold jewellery. All services are offered in person at our Fort Erie location.
Do I need an appointment to visit the store?
No appointment is required. Walk-ins are welcome during store hours. For certain services such as appraisals or detailed evaluations, you may be advised of a short turnaround time once your item is assessed.
Where is Venus Jewellers located?
Venus Jewellers is located at 23 Jarvis Street, Fort Erie, Ontario. Street parking is available directly in front of the store.
What are your store hours?
We are open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (EST).
We are closed on Sundays.
Holiday hours may vary.

What types of jewellery do you repair?
We repair a wide variety of jewellery, including rings, chains, necklaces, bracelets, pendants, and earrings. Repairs are available for gold, silver, and other fine jewellery materials. Each item is assessed individually to determine the appropriate repair method.
Do you offer ring resizing?
Yes. We provide professional ring resizing services, including resizing up or down. Ring condition, design, and material are evaluated to ensure the best result while maintaining the integrity of the piece.
How long do jewellery repairs take?
Repair timelines vary depending on the type of work required. Many simple repairs may be completed within 1 week, while more complex repairs or gemstone work may take longer. Estimated timelines are provided before work begins.
Do you clean and polish jewellery?
Yes. We offer professional jewellery cleaning and polishing services to restore shine and remove surface wear. Cleaning methods are selected based on the material and condition of the piece.
WATCH REPAIR SERVICES
Do you replace watch batteries?
Yes. Watch battery replacements are available, and many can be completed while you wait. Certain watches may require additional time depending on design or case type.
Do you replace watch crystals and wristbands?
Yes. We offer replacement watch crystals and new or replacement wristbands, subject to availability and compatibility. These services typically have a 1–2 week turnaround time.
JEWELLERY APPRAISALS
What types of appraisals do you provide?
We provide professional appraisals for gold jewellery, diamond solitaires, and gemstones, suitable for insurance, estate planning, resale preparation, and personal documentation.
How long does an appraisal take?
Most jewellery appraisals are completed within approximately one week, depending on the complexity of the piece.
Do I need to bring anything for an appraisal?
Please bring the jewellery item(s) to be appraised. Any existing documentation may be helpful but is not required.
BUYING & SELLING GOLD AND SILVER
What gold and silver items do you buy?
We buy a wide range of gold and silver items, including:
Gold and silver jewellery (rings, chains, bracelets, pendants, earrings)
Broken, worn, or unused jewellery
Dental gold
Silver flatware, platters, and tea sets
Gold and silver coins and bullion
Each item is assessed individually.
What gold and silver purities do you accept?
Common gold purities include 9k, 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k, and 24k.
Common silver purities include 800 silver and 925 sterling silver, among others.
How are gold and silver prices determined?
Buy prices are based on current precious metal market values, metal purity, weight, and market conditions at the time of evaluation. All pricing is explained clearly before any transaction is completed.
Is there an obligation to sell after evaluation?
No. There is no obligation to sell after your items are evaluated. You are free to decide whether to proceed.
Are gold and silver purchases final?
Yes. All gold and silver purchases are final, as prices are based on live market values at the time of transaction.
Is identification required to sell gold or silver?
Yes. Government-issued photo identification is required for all gold and silver purchases. Transactions are recorded and may be subject to review by law enforcement in accordance with applicable regulations.
GOLD & SILVER BULLION
Do you buy and sell gold and silver bullion?
Yes. We buy and sell gold and silver bullion in-store, including bars, rounds, and government-issued coins from Canada, the United States, and other world mints. Availability and pricing are based on current market conditions.
Do you publish live bullion prices online?
No. Bullion pricing, premiums, and availability are provided in store or by contacting us directly, as market conditions change frequently.
CASH LOANS ON GOLD
Do you offer cash loans on gold jewellery?
Yes. We offer cash loans using gold jewellery as collateral for individuals who need short-term access to funds without selling their items.
How do cash loans on gold jewellery work?
Your gold jewellery is assessed and held securely as collateral for the duration of the loan. Loan terms, including the weekly interest rate, are explained clearly before any agreement is made. Once the loan is repaid in full, your jewellery is returned.
Where can I get current loan rates?
Loan rates and terms are discussed in person or by contacting the store directly. Rates are not published online.
PAYMENTS & POLICIES
What payment methods do you accept?
Accepted payment methods may include cash, debit, credit cards, certified cheque, and e-transfer, depending on the transaction type.
Do you share customer information?
No. Customer information is handled confidentially and is not shared except where required by law.
